ITTM CERTIFICATION PROCESS FOR TRAINED ITTM PRACTITIONERS
Level 5: After 1 -2 years, depending on the degree to which the practitioner has been able to practice and implement the ITTM, practitioners may decide to receive Certification as an ITTM practitioner. Clinicians in training are required to demonstrate their work in each phase of the program. This includes leading a Phase A group session; demonstrating a Phase B session which includes developing a Past/Present/Future diagram with a client; and a Phase C session which includes using the sand tray method in treating the traumatic event of the child. This requirement may be fulfilled during the training units with “live” session demonstrations or through submitting tapes of the required sessions to Valerie for review. Comments and feedback to the clinician in training will occur in a one to one session with Valerie. Review of Knowledge and Practice: Level 6: The clinician in training meets in person, or via live teleconferencing, for a one and a half hour session to review their knowledge of the theory and practice of the ITTM. The process and learning curve of the practitioner and the expectations for the practice of the ITTM are reviewed. If any areas requiring improvement are identified, a plan for reaching the goals within a timely fashion is developed and reviewed within realistic time frames. Once all goals for practice have been achieved to a moderate degree, the Official ITTM Certificate is issued.
